About

Welcome to the world of the fiber artists who live, work, and create in the Verde Valley of Northern Arizona. Members of the Verde Valley Fiber Artisans guild live in Sedona, Cottonwood, Flagstaff, Camp Verde and Rimrock as well as a few remote members who visit us in person or via Zoom.

We are a diverse group whose mission is to encourage interest and education in fiber arts including:

  • Loom, basket and tapestry weaving

  • Spinning yarn

  • Knitting

  • Crocheting

  • Dyeing

  • Sewing

  • Needle and hand felting

  • Remaking/upcycling

When the guild was founded in 1973 by Mary Pendleton & Betty Gaudy, it was called the Verde Valley Weavers & Spinners Guild. We are now operating as Verde Valley Fiber Artisans. This reflects that membership is not limited to artists who weave or spin, but to anyone who shares a passion for creating with all aspects of the fiber medium, including knitting, felting, sewing, basketry, and many other talents.
